t-nuts can not be put into bricks, you need to get cement drop-in anchors, look on Metolius's website. also, you can't screw into bricks either.

frame up a wall out of lumber and attach it to the brick.
than you can have a overhanging wall. not just vertical

My friend and I built a climbing wall in a stairwell in his house when we first started climbing (about 10 yrs ago). One wall of the staircase was brick and we made holds out of wood and chunks of rock and screwed them into the brick with tapcom screws. It was a pretty fun wall for us when we were just beginning (once we got used to the bad landings :D ). And apparently it is still holding up, my friend was just at home and climbing on it the other day.

depends on the quality of the mortar and the type/age of brick. either way it shreds the hell out of your fingers

They'd pull out almost immediately.
I think you'd have to place some sort of winged bolt all the way through the brick into the hollow center where the flanges would 'wing' out thus preventing them from pulling out but risking destroying the brick.

get the cement wall anchors for holds from metoulious. they are teh things that are designed for what you are talking about doing and will work teh best without a doubt

you live in frontrange, there's ton of climbing very close. what cheap climbing, climb outside.
go to your local ems, there is one in denver and boulder, they give away free information guides to building a climbing woodie.
