Well It's snowing!! way too much right now, so it looks like the climbing season here is over. So it looks like it's time to go south. I'll be in J-Tree for a few weeks in November, probably climbing with the Bird then it's off to San Diego. Anyone need a partner? I can climb 5.11 sport and 5.10 trad. My hardest onsites are 5.10d Trad (The Beak at eagle lake cliff) and 5.11a Sport (Several times, mr Realm of the Overhang at big chief).

Actually, the climbing season is really just getting started. Plenty of rock to climb all winter and no crowds. Ha, they're all out skiing.

In reply to: ....and Mammoth is opening tomorrow.... 48" of freshy fresh as of this morning! That's fucking crazy... Here I was getting all excited about the inch of snow in downtown Jackson.

agree w/ sierramike time to hit up lower elevation or southern facing crags while everyone else is stuck inside!!! just get used to frozen fingers and you can crank all winter long...

Ski resports are opening (only Boreal & Kirkwood so far I think). Anybody else make it up this weekend?

In reply to: Ski resports are opening (only Boreal & Kirkwood so far I think). Anybody else make it up this weekend? I was up at Boreal today. Best early season I've ever seen by far. They have a solid base and are open to the top (OK, it's not that far to the top, whatever). I think Chairs 5 & 11 are open at Kirkwood. Colin
