Resoling the La Sportiva Miura?

My Miura's are getting close to needing a resole. I'm rather pleased that as a noob I got 10 months of 3x/week (gym and outdoors) climbing out of them. 8^)
If you've had your Miuras, or other similar heavily cambered shoe, resoled please tell me how they turned out. Was the shape significantly changed to the point that they didn't fit/perform as before? Which resoler did you use?

Thanks,

George.

I got my Miuras resoled several times. It's a well built shoe so it came out almost as good as new every time.

my miuras have been resoled several times, and the fit is pretty close to what it was the first time around.

I have a pair with 3 resoles and another one with 4.

They are still great, they were tight when new, so they were comfortable by the end of the original sole, after the resoles they feel even better.

If have a new pair that I dont even feel the need to break in.

Try C4 instead of the original rubber.

I had a pair of Katanas resoled (I believe they are the same last as the Miuras, correct me if Im wrong). They were never the same. I would assume that having a lace-up would alleviate any fit changes, maybe? Also, i generally used the shoe for bouldering w/ precise footwork- after the resole, the precision was gone. I downgraded them to warm up shoe, gave them to a friend, and then burned them in Joe's.

Thanks to all who have replied. I also asked who the resoler was, but only one person gave a name. If I do get them done I'd obviously like to send them somewhere they have a good chance of being resoled properly. Of course I've already searched the site for threads on resole shops. Good information in all but nothing specific to the Miura.

George.

I sent my Miuras to "The Rubber Room" in Bishop, California and had them resoled with C4 for one particular route I worked for over a year. I thought the "Room" was a little slow getting them back to me but the work was perfect and I have since sent my route with them.

I've had my miuras, katanas, megas, mocs, and flashes all done by Ramuntas resole in Seattle and they're all BETTER after the resole - he rocks.

I've had several resoles done by the resoler out of Waterstone Outdoors in Fayetteville, WV. My muiras are better than new, I stuck with the same rubber though, I like it on the muiras better than C4. Jason does an awesome job and it's very reasonable ($32.00 plus shipping).
