This may not make too much sense to most beginners but to an experienced leader it can provide a valuble perspective. Try setting it up with generic information, say a piece every ten feet and run it then just change one factor like the rope or go from wired stoppers to ice screws, try a thinner rope then try progressivly thicker ropes or try different belay devices and see how the results change.
