This kind of reminds me of the time I met a couple of climbers from Louisiana and I asked them “So where’s all the good climbing in Louisiana?”. Their response. “Texas”. I think the geological history of Florida doesn’t make for good climbing/bouldering . But I could be wrong. good luck.

I visit Florida quite often, mainly down south. I can't speak for the rest of the state, but to the best of my knowledge, there is no natural climbing in Florida, even up north. I can, though ,reccomend that you skip the bouldering and hit the white sand beaches, splash around in the refreshing topaz blue waters, bask in the gorgeous yellow sunshine, and check out the bronzed hotties! Enjoy the true natural wonders of Florida, you can always go back to climbing elsewhere afterwards.

In reply to: there is no natural climbing in Florida, even up north I'll take the cold winters and lack of bikinis in Newfoundland myself. Florida, sounds like a pretty crappy place to live. Ah perspective.

There are climbing gyms in Tampa, Orlando, Miami area, and gainsville. I think this site has a couple of them listed. Jon

Yeah, I think the highest point in Florida is a landfill. Maybe you can pick up some bronzed hotties doing some beach side buildering?

Best bouldering in Fl? I lived there for 3.5 yrs. and the best ourdoor bouldering (we'll exclude gyms) is actually near hotels. Seriously, hotel pools have great rocks. You'll look silly, but if your heart is set on on bouldering while in Fl. (we also have some great buildering... but so does every other state with a city...) I'd say go into a local hotel and scout out a pool.... Reason #55 on why I left Fl.

you could sneak into disney and builder.... I've always wanted to climb Thunder Mountain... I imagine you could get some decent placements in there... but you might get hit by a runaway train car if you took a whipper. Jon
