the two reasons why i started Trad was it opens the door to climb almost all kinds of rock and the none of the limits of sport (no bolts, no climbing) next of course was the super cool gear incorporated with Trad Sooooone i discovered some thing more to Trad....placements :P not just "oh! this nut fits here!" but using your gear in manors not obvious stacking nuts or placing pro/whatever in areas hard to protect that other people would just run it out this is one reason why i like climbing easier routes, so i can climb stupidly slow and make these wicked placements, i may be over-protecting, but when i run low on gear; i end up finding wick placements i could only discrible this any more with examples: *stacking nuts with one nut chocked normaly and the other chock sideways in a big oddshaped flare *slung hex chocked for an upward pull behind a flake and then having the cord running over top of the flake to then be clipped to the rope *chocking cams etc etc i'm sure some of you could post some other stellar placements that took afew minutes of thinking and trying every peice in your rack to eventually find a placement
