Very american. Just "lock" a thread so no one can post a reply. Very fascist. So in locking my thread are you admitting that coclimber26 tried to post a photo as his own that was clearly not his? Who the hell posts a photo as his own who that he just happened to receive from a friend? Compared to his other photos, this one was clearly so much better. Did it not stike anyone as a bit funny? A bit sad that everyone on this site is so young that they didn't recognize that this photo was from a BD catalogue and rated it so high. Of course, it is Greg Child's!

You posted this separately. The photo was removed from the site as a result. your previous thread Why should the thread remain open after the problem that you pointed out has been resolved? News flash: not everyone is honest. Double news flash: sometimes 'obvious' copyright violations slip through. Triple news flash: when they are pointed out, the offending material IS REMOVED. Tell me again why you feel justified in your screed, and what it now accomplishes. Liability for copyright infringement rests with the infringer -- we demand that the user submitting a photo declare it is their own or a work they are legally entitled to post. If they lie, you should feel free to sue them.

DMT my mistakes may make me look foolish but my point is valid. despite the current political climate, anyone with an education, and who is not a moron, could not agree that fascism is an american quality and yes any mistake made while disin' another for being an idiot is funny

In reply to: The_Pirate has moved this thread from Climbing Photography to Pissing and Moaning. Empowerment to the People. Let everybody play! Seriously, I sort of agree with the OP in that this photo-borrowing topic could stand further discussion, not for purposes of hassling one picture-poster but in more general terms.

In reply to: Seriously, I sort of agree with the OP in that this photo-borrowing topic could stand further discussion, not for purposes of hassling one picture-poster but in more general terms. I have given pictures that I took to other users to post on several occasions. As far as I know they all credited me in the tag. I have also posted pictures that others have taken with my camera that I can't be sure who, exactly, it was that took the picture. But my BS alarm starts sounding when someone trys to to say that they thought their buddy snapped a Greg Child quality photo.

In reply to: Very american. Just "lock" a thread so no one can post a reply. Very fascist. Actually, no, it's not. In fact, facism is much more a European phenomenon: http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Fascism To this date, the geographical United States of America has been witness to several general types of government; among them a royalist foreign power and a democracy; but no facist state. I believe you are well aware of the consequences here for foreign royalists attempting to subjugate our people. If this had indeed been a facist state, you would likely not be allowed to post anything negative against the state. In fact, if you had been posting inside of a facist state (as you are not here), you would probably be expecting several jack booted thugs to come knocking on your door any minute to "re-educate you" or to "suicide you". Thankfully, you are far across the ocean in London, former home of the British Union of Facists: http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/...nion%20of%20Fascists Possibly, you could say you felt it unfair, or that you wished to further express your opinion at a seemingly irresponsible act. However, to compare the posting and removal of a photograph in support of intellectual property rights and the locking of a thread with any form or idea of facism is deeply insulting to anyone whose relatives or friends have been murdered by a real facist such as Benito Mussolini. In fact, it's highly uneducated and ignorant. Now that I have characterized your actions and not your person as churlish, uneducated, ignorant, boorish and insensitive, I would like to ask if you had any further well thought out comments to make about a situation that had been handled and explained to you... or if you will instead choose to sulk off into the night. Please, I beg of your dear sir, edcuate me as to how my duly elected and appointed government is facist. Cheers! As for the idea of further discussing the posting, I agree that further discussion in a thread devoted possibly to posting photos and intellectual property would probably be a good idea. Minus, of course, jingoistic comments...
