An Otter Box a crushproof, waterproof padded dry box. I picked up a couple this weekend while at EMS. I love them. I am totally secure with throwing my cameras in my pack and not worrying about them. Even though I will never use it, they are waterproof to 100 feet. They are available in the paddling section of sporting goods stores and online.

I totally recommend one. Anyone use these for equipment?

a cheeper alternative is to buy a short length of poly pipe (white water pipe, look at the outlet in you toilet) and get a end cap and a screw end cap and some glue. these with a bit of padding are just as good and waterproof.

My camera would require an 8" piece of PVC pipe. I just kept it in the padded carrying case, and when it rained put it in the plastic bucket with the avocados and oranges.
