A nice shot, crisp, sharp with a good facial expression. But for me it looks like the climber is not on the rock. It looks more like he is standing on the ground thinking through the moves. I would also like to see a little more contrast in the image. Definately not a 1 though, I would probably have given this a 7 or 8.

I agree with moroneyk; it's a nice shot, but the framing is too tight to give any reference.

I like the movement in the hand. 8^)

Definitely not a 1. :?

I'd say bring the camera closer to the rock so you just get the reaching hand & the face, or back up some & include more of the climber's torso & right arm. The framing is caught in-between @ this distance so things look crowded. Also, a larger DOF would be nice so the climber's right hand isn't blurred.

i like the idea of shooting this just for the hand and the rock... as thats all that was really important in this. i wish i realized that, then.

the right hand is blurry from lens distortion from a fisheye.. i shot this with someone elses camera. it was an extension lens, that i dont even think was the right size for the camera.

Now tell me, was he really climbing or not?
If his face was more "in pain", it might be a good shot.
