Just show up at the Bluff. You'll find the local are very friendly and welcoming.
It's not unusual to have people there in the evening during the week, but the days are short now.

Wouldn't make any difference, you'd still suck.

Shank,
Missed a good day Sunday, where were you?

A question for you good Tennesseans... anyone ever checked out the limestone quarry down in Erin? About 75 - 100 feet tall if memory serves. Me and a friend used to climb at a similar quarry down in Dickson County called Underground City (private property, no tresspassing nowadays). The one if Erin is a lot like it.

As I recall it sits behind a broken down chain link fence. Don't know if its city property or what? But if access could be achieved you could develop a killer sport climbing area there. That limestone is very compact and very climbable, unlike river bluffs such as Sidney Bluff across the Cumberland from Ashland City (we did about 10 FA's on that bluff in the early 80's). If you convinced the city commerce folks that Clarksville climber business will surely follow, they may encourage it.

Anyway, I drove through there for the first time in a decade not too long ago and wondered...

Dingus,

Thanks for the heads up.
I'll check into it, as I am not far from Erin.
Any help with finding the right place would be great.

Chops,

I just figured it would be too wet, and nobady ever tell me when they are going to climb anymore

Later,
Steve

I'll be moving to Clarksville this summer and I'm interested in climbing (also a beginner). I'll get into town sometime in June/July if you want to drop me a note then.

If you're looking at clifffs in the area, don't overlook the old quarry on the side of the road in Cumberland furnace. FOund it just before I left the area and it seemed interesting and could be developed into a nice alternative climbing area for locals.
