Hi

Anyone out there climbed this magnificiant mountain?

Going there this summer, planning for about 1 weeks on the Ushba plateau for good aclimatazion, and some nice warm up routs. Any one have any good beta?

Doesn anyone know the Russian grade system? What is 5B in french system, like TD, AD and so on?

Difficult to make a comparison, but a bit of resarch indicates that a russian 5b route would involve climbing up to UIAA VI+ standard - USA 5.10a/510b. I don't know how that translates to french alpine grades though.
