That's so cute. You've affixed a last name to your name. All the girls did that in elementary school. "I'll be Mrs. Johnny Depp." or whatever. Hee.

Count me in Sally, I'll be there in April. I'd also like to hit up Taquits/Suicide again while in the neighbourhood.

I am definitely going - but have a question. On the "Rc.com in 2005" thread that Michael posted, he said they would announce to gathering in February - are you part of that, or just, like you said, sick of not having the facts yet and wanting to get things started?

The 13th to the 16th? I could go if it was on a w/e, but Wed thru Sat? Anyway, I always go to J-Tree the w/e before that (this year it would be the 9th & 10th) but could push it back 1 week and at least be there on the Saturday. It would be nice to finally hang out with some of the rc.com crew.

Oh yeah. Count me in for sure. I only live an hour from Josh and am there every weekend it doesn't rain anyway...What we really need to do though is get a couple of group sites or try to get people out there early to reserve a bunch of sites maybe on the back loop of HVC. I volunteer...I can go early in the week and drop the envelopes for a bunch of sites together and you people can buy me a drink! I'll need license plate #s though to reserve the sites...PM me when you know for sure you are going. So, April 15, 16, 17 or 8, 9, 10? Post your preference people. Let's get organized! I prefer the earlier weekend, 8, 9 and 10... Somebody get maculated on this too. I demand a poi ball show!!

Looked on Michael's thread after reading coldclimb's thread and dont see anything about a j tree gathering on it, so was getting confused and just wanted some facts! and yeah about the dates - oops, i flipped through to may instead of april when i thought the 13th to the 16th. my bad. looks like it has worked though  the ball is slowly rolling.

Ya know....it looks like the Rc in 2005 post was edited on 1/11, and now there is no mention of the Gathering being in Joshua Tree.....aaaarrrghhhh! Here is the paragraph where it USED to have the mention.
In reply to: Events: The members of Rockclimbing.com have always had unofficial gatherings that in some cases have become annual pilgrimages for folks from around the world to climb, slander, have a few drinks, and gather to have a great time in the settings we are most comfortable. Those should always continue, but Rockclimbing.com will also have official access-related events in 2005. The first will be announced in February. I have to say; I'm disappointed it was removed, and very glad that you started this thread then. I went there for my first time in December and it was incredible. When I was told that it is really beautiful in spring(especially with a wet winter - which we have had!), I promised myself I would come back in April. As soon as I got home I started trying tor recruit friends to go, but since I don't lead yet, it's not so easy...... When I saw the announcement that rc.com was intending to host a gathering, I thought "my problem is solved, now I'll easily be able to find someone to drive out(from the airport) with and have as sort of a base group to camp with. So - I am going to post on the Partners thread asking about the gathering and if rc is still considering it, but I am not about to miss the opportunity to be there this spring. Either way - I'm in.

I don't really have to pin down a date, since SoCal is a relatively routine drive from Tucson and we can make plans on short notice. So yeah, sure, maybe, whenever. If I don't get to climb Bird of Fire this trip somebody's getting hurt! No more grainy frying pan slab, CURT :P

Hmmmm if this turns into a real gathering, i might drop the red rock trip in march and head to J-tree, I went to the 1st rc.com gathering there in Jan 02 and i cant get enough of that place (only been back once though), there might be a bunch of Minnesota climbers there, we have a thread on our local site linked to this thread. Keep us posted :) Les
