Hey guys/girls. I saw a sheet at boulders about this comp and im wondering if anyone from WI or near by is going to be climbing it ? www.adventurerock.com is the site. This will be my first one ever and im real excited for it. It is a lead Comp. and there are 4 levels of it. 5.5-5.8, 5.9-5.10b, 5.10c-5.11, 5.11+ But for me im not sure what to do? I was thinking 5.9-5.10b but i might want to start lower and if i climb hard then move up... does that sound right ? Anyway im just wondering if anyone else is going to it??

Quack on the Duck 2005 (or Quick on the Draw) Everyone in the area should come out to our annual comp this Sat. the 29th. It is such a fun time! Brand new routes (finally!, right AdRockers?) Gumby519 is correct about the divisions: Recreational, Intermediate, Advanced and Open. Advanced and Rec climb in the morning and Intermediate and Open climb in the afternoon. Rec and Intermediate divisions don't have to lead any routes. All the info and times and stuff is on the website www.adventurerock.com and if you have questions, just ask. Come climb!!!

Well i had a good time today at the Comp, It was my first one and also i had never been to A-Rock. Kind of a small space but the walls are nice and high up there. Also the bouldering place is really nice. There were ALOT of people in the Intermediate group i think around 70 people and there was a 5 way tie. But i guess i did alright. i got 6,867 points which i think was like 24th place. But im excited, for others to come. The bouldering was super easy. Now im excited for Boulders Climbing Gym Comp in Feb. Anyone else go to the comp ? What group were you in and how did you do ?

Hey, Congratulations! I thought the compe was a great time, and all the routes were pretty darn good. I'm excited for some climbing on the new routes tonight, especially the open routes! Oh, new hard stuff!

It was a fun comp. I was surprised at how big the intermediate group was. The routes were fun, the people were nice, couldn't have been a better day (unless I was climbing outside)

No chalk allowed, are you sure you were at the right comp, I was there the last 2 years and it was practically snowing in there. My roomate did it this year and is sitting next to me and is a chalk whore. But I hear it was an awesome comp. Barnburner anyone?

Adventure Rock puts on an awesome comp. Quack on the Duck 2005 (aka Quick on the Draw) was loads of fun. Or "fun-town" as Alex Nimmer called it. The quality of routes and boulder problems was excellent as always. The genius and creativity of craig and eric, and other route setters, was what makes it such a great time. Sweet moves, ridculously fun people, good tunes, and rubber duckies... you cant go wrong. Prizes were trophies with the little dudes lopped off and replaced with rubber duckies on top. classic moment: alex johnson putting on her first place tiara covered in ducks, proceeding to drop it, and put it on again, multiple times while standing on the podium.

In reply to: No chalk allowed...This comp is weird!!! Went to it 11 years ago, not worth the flight from Porland! Gravel floor etc.... this was their 6th annual Q on the D, so i don't know if it was a different comp you were at or what the scenario is, but they fo' sho' let you use chalk, and i've never seen a gravel floor at a gym anywhere as far as I can remember (maybe i'm wrong, but i do work there). it was a great comp...maybe next year you should check it out.

the comp was great! the routes were fantastic! despite the whole duck theme of the comp, which was really creative, i think there was an underlying "napoleon dynamite" theme goin on as well. (gosh!) it's always cool to see climbers come out to a comp no matter what the prizes come out to be, whether they are toasters or a tiara of rubber duckies or some random gear.

There was plenty of chalk allowed there... i would shit a brick if i couldnt use chalk... anyway about the Barn Burner check out the WIsco home page there is a forum set for the barnburner and the times and everything you want to know about it. And if you have questions let me know b/c i made all the flyers and T-shirts so i can help you out. here is a link to the page. http://www.rockclimbing.com/...p?t=80370&highlight= ~Colin
