My father, who was in the 10th MTN in WWII taught me the basics 25-30 yrs ago. I didn't do much with it (not much climbing in Ohio) till my own sons got intrested a few years ago. Now I'm trying to make up for lost time. Taking trips to N.H., Mt. Washington, ice in Canada, Rainier. Lots of road trips to the New & Seneca Rocks
