I bring this on canoe trips to he boundary waters and this filter is wicked. Only problem is you have to clean it and the ceramic filter cracks if dropped. I would definitly buy a new one if I ever lost this one.

Gotta love it, smooth pump and fast fill rate. I heard from a gear shop employee where I bought it that the filter check U-shaped fork is only for the half life of the filter! He said you could really use it everyday for years before you need another filter, but the reason most people buy new filters is they break. Don't drop it when cleaning with the scrubber. Happy pumping.

Great purifier. Simple and easy to use, pack, clean and maintain. I highly recommend this purifier to anyone. It makes it on my long trips as well as my day hikes.

BEST FILTER EVER!!! I have been a scout leader for a number of years and have taken several week long trips with the toughest gear testers on earth. The boys beat the hell out of every filter we get. This one is the only one that never breaks.
If you are in heavily polluted areas(or risk of viruses) I would go with a purifier. However, if you are looking for a filter, this is the one to get.
Light, easy to clean, easy to fix, strong, simple, it screws onto Nalgene bottles and MRS bags, and no funny taste. How can you go wrong?

This water filter is pretty good except the fact that you need to add iodine or chlorine to the water after you filter it, instead i just purchased the miox.
