Description

The Dynotron/LiveWire Quickdraw pairs our two new biners with a 12-centimeter Spectra dogbone. The LiveWire is your specialized rope-end biner, slightly larger in capacity and ergonomically designed to hang from webbing at the perfect angle. Perfect for desperate clips because of its size and featured spine, the LiveWire is easy to finger- or pinch-clip. Its wiregate offers effortless clippability. When you’re pimping on some greasy, slopey crimp, this is the setup that should be hanging above you.

dynotron/livewire 4 out of 5 stars

Everything everybody said was true... but,
1. Everybody owns them now, so you end up sorting draws at the end of the day.
2. The dogbones on mine are now fuzzy after a season of use.
3. The gold anodizing material has rubbed off the biners on rope end, and the biners on the bolts end have gouges in them....

so they aren't pretty anymore.

This is USUALLY the first draw i place. Don't know why.. i just love it. It clips well, fits well in one's hand and is just a pleasure all around. My friends jokingly call it my "Beauty Biner" because it's always the first draw I place.

great draws, clipping is a breeze, light weight, bought them new for $10 each at rei off the clearence rack. Perfectly good draws for a good price

I don't actually have this specific draw set (have Neutrinos on the rope end instead). However the Dynotrons have a very smooth gate action, a very large gate opening, and a very ergonomic shape. The little extra bend in the spine may seem like a gimmick, but for me it really does fit in my hand better. The gate also has a flat surface reminiscent of a wiregate, which makes clipping super easy.

Bought a mess of these a month back and have tried them out thoroughly. Excellent for rope clipping, although not as nice as the original Livewire (aka the "Fin"). Very ergonomic and useful when you're pumped. The keylock nose on the bolt end is also very useful when cleaning a very steep route. The dynotron carabiner is essentially the same design as the Livewire, but with the gate of the old positrons. I swapped out the dynotron for the new positrons to create what is, in my opinion, the best quickdraw set for hard sport climbing available.

Edit to add: the dynotron carabiner is crap though. Get rid of that thing and you've got a good quick draw.
