HARD CHOC Fall: The analysis of mountain accidents shows us that most ropes do not withstand abrasion on edges. Conventional ropes break when they are submitted to this type of fall. In its constant improvement and search for higher security levels, ROCA has found a solution to this problem. TASMANIA 9mm (double) and TASMANIA 10.5mm (single) ropes endure the UIAA edge test (complementary test to the UIAA norms). This test is the same as the standard, but substituting the plaque-snaphook by a metal 90-degree angle with a rounded edge having 0.75mm radius.
The TASMANIA rope has been designed to guarantee resistance against falls on edges (HARD CHOC), offering also extraordinary abrasion resistance (long life). The TASMANIA rope is developed for those places where falling is almost commonplace. An incredibly durable rope!

I like my Roca Tasmania, and I trust it more than any of my other ropes ( I guess I have faith in numbers) it is ar rope with a nice hand, I am hard on roprs , I use munter hitches quite often to rapell, and it still flakes out ok , it has started to show a little fuzzing which my Edelweiss doesn't.. but there are no soft or hard spots after probably 100 pitches.

These ropes are awesome. They are way bomber but they still have a good feel to them as they are quite supple. For a single rope they are out on their own. Just have a look at the specs for the fall ratings and their resistance to abrasion and that all stacks up to very good value for money as well as peace of mind in the fact that this rope just won`t let you down in any normal and some extreme climbing environments. I would highly recommend this rope to any who wish to use it for lead climbing or aid.
