Revelation 9.2 mm Rope

I use my revelation for sport, alpine, and trad climbs with long approaches. It's nice and light, clips easily and stays drier in snow. I second the review that says that it isn't ultra durable, mine is starting to show some wear and it hasn't seen too much work. I love it as a secondary rope, but you'll still need a workhorse ~10.2 mm rope for everyday use.

FYI, Mammut will be introducing a new, even skinnier rope, the 8.9 mm Serenity. It is rated as both a single and double and weighs 52 g/m or about 5% less than the Revelation, but otherwise similar. Also, Mammut will be discontinuing the Matrix autoblock-capable belay/rappel device, so get 'em while you can. I like it.

It's a good rope ... no doubt ... but my Mammut Tusk leaves it for dead in general purpose climbing. The revelation spends a lot of time under my staircase collecting dust.

Anyone want to buy a 50m length of Revelation? ;-)

This is one of the best ropes i've used. Smooth, light and Tight!!

I am sure this rope has many different applications, but I bought it for using in the mountains. The only problem I had was that it seems to come back with a ding on the sheath each time I use it. So be mindful as you would with any other small diameter rope. Markings are nice. The teflon coating is almost too good in that some times it is difficult to keep knots tied. I would definitely recommend this rope in alpine settings because it is lightweight and strong but be prepared because it will get beat up.
