Great Harness
Review by: dmcgill, 2011-11-21
This harness is my first and current rock climbing harness. I have used it in the gym and out on the rocks, and I gotta say it's really served me well. It is very comfortable on the lower back which is an issue for me and the leg loops adjust to fit snuggly around my legs. I especially like the plastic tie in saver that helps protect the loops. The gear loops are uncoated but have served me well. It's a safe bet I'm staying with Mammut when I retire this harness, great quality!
My first harness: Comfortable, affordable

It has treated me pretty good. all around it's a pretty good deal.
the only minor issue is that the hook holding the 2 leg loop falls once in a while.
I would recommend this harness.!

For $50 it's an incredible deal. Add in the fact that it's an all around harness and it's even better. It's really comfortable, you can climb all day, hang while climbing without getting your circulation cut off in several areas, and with a dual tie-in area, it gives your body less impact on falls. The company has been around for 150 years and makes high quality products. I have complete confidence in this harness.
Good Harness

I got the harness as part of a package (ATC, HMS biner, chalk bag, you know... the works)
This was my first legit climbing harness. Fully adjustable, true to size, and pretty comfortable (even on long hang-dogs while working a new route ).
My only real beef with it is the gear loops and rear straps. the gear loops are tacky IMO, yeah sure they are sturdy and I haven't had any problems carrying gear on it, but the loops look makeshift almost.
The rear straps for the leg loops are not easily adjustable while you have the harness on, no big deal in the grand spectrum of this harness just an aspect I felt worthy of noting.
Overall I feel the harness is a great deal for beginners (especially for the price).

I have used this harness 3 times since purchase and overall I think its an excellent, comfortable harness with few downfalls. The main thing I do not like is the fact that the rear straps from the leg loops to the belt are not perfectly centered, its a little to the right(for someone a little smaller it wouldnt be like this but the way the harness is designed is that way). Other than that its very comfortable and fits very well. It doesn't dig into you at all during belay or rapelling. I would definately recommend this harness to someone else and its definately a viable competitor in its price range!
