Description
No other camming device on the planet can offer you this kind of holding power for the varying rock types you're likely to encounter. With 35% greater surface area than conventional units, what you get is increased security - and lots of it!
The innovative Fat Cams increase holding power with fat, custom-milled solid blocks of 6061 T-6 aluminum. With all that extra surface are contacting the rock, you'll see a major increase in holding power and reduce the chances of "tracking" you cam through the rock.
We've had an overwhelmingly positive response to the Fat Cam's ease of placement in any rock type (hard or soft). Their wide stable nature makes them very easy to place and keeps them incredibly secure. We've found them to be an ideal cam for beginning climbers and experts alike.

I only have the #7 in these and I'm not a huge fan. I'm sure that I'd love it in soft sandstone, but I'd rather have the power cams for most rock I climb on.

got no use for 'em. too specialized becuase they are too wide for a general purpose cam. on soft sandstone i simply place gear more often.

I love these guys, when climbing in soft stone they do the trick. I like having that extra surface area.

These things are great, I trust them the most in chossy rock and sanstone type rock. They have bigger lobes and lots of friction with loose rock, so its twice as hard for them to come out. Only drawback is the extra weight.

These things rock the house! The fat lobes make the cam look/feel more secure. I've used my set of these in all types of rock, and don't have any complaints. Nothing else feels close to as good in sandstone. Because of the wide lobes, these are not low-profile cams. Better take TCUs or Aliens if you anticipate lots of pin scars.
