Description

The Black Diamond Bullet Backpack holds all the essentials when you launch on a long multi-pitch trad route or blitz your local ice line. Ultra-tough and simplistic construction was chosen whith rock climbing in mind, so you know the Bullet will handle the harshness of sandstone, granite, and limestone without a word of complaint. Its top haul loop provides a place to clip in at anchors, and it rides high on your back to keep from interfering with your harness or chalk bag. The Black Diamond Bullet Backpack is just the right size for your jacket, approach shoes, and some grubit should join you every time you leave the ground for more than a pitch.

Nice little pack to wear for multipitch 4 out of 5 stars

I like the simple design and lack of straps and bungees on the outside to snag on shrubbery. There are a couple low-profile loops you can put biners through to attach more stuff if you need to. It rides high, even on my small frame and is unobtrusive. The one thing I do not like is that it has a port for a hydration bladder, but not an interior pocket. The one time I used it with a bladder, the bladder wadded up down in the bottom and I could not drink. I saw an older model which had an internal sleeve. Why did BD take it away in the '08 model? I'm in the process of installing a homemade sleeve to support a water bladder in mine.

This is an outstanding pack for day routes. It's a little overbuilt, so it's nice and durable. I disagree with mgoodro, I think a thicker belt strap is unecessary. Mine doesn't have the side webbing - I may have an older version. But one thing I like about the pack is that streamlining, so I wouldn't want to have anything dangling off it.
Thoughtfully engineered; I particularly like the clip loop on the top that is built with a little wire to make the loop stick up from the pack. The side pocket is just the right size for most guidebooks.

I've stuffed a lot of stuff into this little pack, including a 30m rope, shoes, harness, draws, cams, camera and snacks. Sitting high on the back keeps it out of the way. I've dragged it up and down a few faces with very little wear. The webbing down the sides is great for hanging gear and water. I'd like a thicker belt strap.
