I've climbed at Shelf Road with one of the guys who works for the company that makes these. Don't have one yet myself, but my friends are happy with them. Looks like it would make your Nalgene less likely to bang against your thigh if you hung it on your harness approaching the crag, and that's a Good Thing.

Bought 3--they're cheap, perform exactly as described, and they are cool looking.
Free up your hands and don't worry about ripping the lid up.
