Review 5 out of 5 stars

Review by: obnoxice, 2005-11-10

Cheap, absorbs fall impacts well, middle fold does not give, converts into a sofa cushion, stylish, thick, velcro makes for good attachment to another pad for a bigger landing area, light to carry, ok carry straps and did I mention cheap? :)

REALLY hard at first, feels like walking on a piece of wood. After a few days of jumping on it, sleeping on it, and having everyone nearby walk on it as much as possible, itīs softened up some. It no longer hurts to fall onto it, but if it gets just a little softer itīll be perfect. You will never bottom out on this pad, and since all foam softens over time, I really look forward to the future with this pad.
Really big, low price, really nice.
*I did get a MadRock carpet square that came along with the pad.

Ditto all the good things. I personally love the thickness, and chair adaptation capabilities.

Could be bigger, and have a couple more knick-knacks like somewhere to put shoes, keys, etc when you're carrying the bag.

I wish they'd had the Triple pad when I bought mine.

I have taken a couple test falls on this pad and found that it was better than landing on the ground, but not by much. It is so thick because it has only two layers of foam (instead of a normal open-cell foam and closed-cell foam alternating layers)and needs all of that padding for it's meager shock absorbtion. I would recommend the climaxe crash pad because eventhough it is about half as thick it is much more cofortable to land on and you can buy two of those for the price of one of the mad-pads

Bought this pad recently, extremely bomber construction. will hopefully last a lifetime for me (feels like it will.)

real bargin, but a hip belt will make the hike out easier

Just took a real high fall on it yesterday, still feels great.

-Sean.
