If your thinking about it, do it. Pro's use it, super safe.... umm.... and its pretty.... :) I feel very comfortable being on the climbing side of this and can focus on what im doing knowing that it helps reduce human error (have seen a person drop 50 feet while top roping with a normal atc type, the atc was not the problem deff human error, but it wouldn't have happened with one of these, do yourself a favor and get it)

almost no effort to pull slack for lead, and awesome top-rope belay! used with 10mm rope.

Great device. Great manufacturer. Catches your big whip and then lowers you like a champ.

I absolutely love this belaying device! It's quick, easy, and smooth when I'm bringing the climber down. A must have for top-rope! I do think for instance that it is a tiny bit over-priced, and I don't think you should buy one when beginning because you will get pretty used to the auto-locking feature and you will become less agile with a basic ATC. Overall, it's a great belay device and I recommend it for anyone who does TR!
