This looks like the same mini that nic-impex produces. Could it be that Edelrid is re-packaging this product? I have the nic-impex version and I am very satisfied with it. The only con I can see in the shovel is that the blade is just not as big as a full size shovel, so you are not moving as much snow. Could be a real issue in a pressure situation. Such as a burial. Overall I like my shovel and it stowes nicely for backcountry use.

I think this shovel is pretty sweet, i had one for building snowboard jumps, the thing works great and goes into a bookbag pretty easy, depending on the size of the bag. Im sure this shovel will work from pretty much whatever you need it for involving snow.
