It was hard to use when I first got it. but i have found it easier to belay from than even my revso that I now use while trad climbing due to cutting back on weight.

My gosh what was metolious thinking! Out of all the belay devices this thing is the pits!! I've seen bunches of people get this in the safe-tech harness/biner/brd package and then turn around a day or two later and get an ATC or something better. The rope jams and snags in it all the time and that stupid little tongue makes it a pain in the butt! BOOO!!!

Sucks to feed slack while lead belaying.
My buddy used one during his lead belay test at the gym. He passed but they told him never to use the BRD again.

i really hate this device as it is ONLY good for rappell. it snags on belay and really is just a horrible product a waste of $20

This is my first and only B-device. I must say that there is plenty of friction but sometimes I find it hard to feed rope to people on lead.
