Review 4 out of 5 stars

I love the size and shape of this 'biner. The release is easy to open and the gate opens super wide making it a dream to setup for belay or rappel. The action has stayed very smooth. After about 6 months of use I have yet to experience an accidental opening, but the other reviews do make me nervous on that count.

Great belay biner; easy to open when you want to, impossible to open when you don't. What more could you want?

this is a good biner for the gym, but its a bit bulky, the only plus ive found is the wide gate lenth, also the gate can open if the rope rolls it the right way.

Good 'biner, but has one potentially major drawback: The lock is easy to undo and open the gate, and it locks positively when released (unlike my Petzl Ball-Lock). Unfortunately, the lock can be easily defeated by the rope if it runs across the barrel of the lock. DO NOT use to belay a leader...!!!

I've relegated mine to "master 'biner" status on my web-o-lette where the rope is unlikely to contact the barrel. I would NOT use it with a Munter Hitch to belay a second either. Omega could easily correct this issue by adding a secondary locking feature. (Note: Regarding the previous user review: All 'biner's make your hands "shiny"; that's aluminum oxide...)

great locker. the gate is offset, so it has tons of clearance for putting multiple ropes into it at once. my only complaint is the anodization (sp?) wears off onto the rope quickly, and then leaves your hands all shiny. oh well.
