I own the smallest DMM 3CU's, then the 4CUS. They were my first set of cams and i love them, but the 4CUs are the better choice, for the small stuff its hard to beat the Metolius TCUs (which i now also own) or Aliens (wich i also have a few of. The DMM units are very well made and have the slick double length spectra sling that is so useful, are considerably cheaper than other comparable units, and have a U stem useful for aid climbing (which also works against you in pods or pockets). They are also rated to much higer strength than most other small cams (which i wonder about, particularly on the .5) and all sized have strenght rated milled cam stops. The ultralight nature of DMMs cams is at its greatest advantage in the larger 4CUs, not in the small 3CUs. I'm not sure of the weight stats, but i doubt there is much difference (whereas in the larger size i can cary SEVEN DMM cams, from small fingers to fist for about the same weight as only the 1, 2 & 3 BD camalots!) Also the smallest one (.5) has almost no range, tends to get stuck as a result, and is not that small compared to the Metolius TCUs. The .75 and up are pretty much identical to the Metolius #2 TCU and up, but smaller springing the extra cash for TCUs or Aliens is worth it. The main differences between the Metolius and DMM units are: the DMMs have a center cam about half again as wide as the side cams giving greater holding power to these small units, at the cost of slightly wider cam heads. Also the DMM axles are freefloating (not sure what that accomplishes) and rather large, giving great strength, but sacrificing some range on the smallest units.
Pros: Cheaper than other comparable quality small cams, very well made, double spectra slings, strong, strong milled cam stops, U-stem great for aid.
Cons: Smallest is not so useful, U-stem bad for some placements, smallest size not very small.

The doubled slimg is definately nice. Most of the time you don't even need a draw on them. I like these better than the Metolius TCUs, although I prefer 4 cam units instead. The trigger isn't great on these. I think Metolius did a better job there.

I only own one so far but I'll own more in the future.
Just as good as the FCU' minus the weight and size.
Good price too.

I have the full tcu set. They have worked really well for me. I really like that the sling is doubled so that you can have it sort for racking and long when it's placed. They have worked really well for me.
