Love these shoes... they are incrtedibly light and comfortable and the S1 Dotty tread has the amazing grip you would expect...

if you want more padding, why did you buy a shoe where you can clearly see there is no padding in the toe.

I truly lov these shoes.... but wouldn't want to wear them on a long approach! There's just not enough support...... there great for the office and bars but from from a true approach shoe. With this being said...... i've been wearing them to work(desk job) for about three months and have noticed the toe rand is starting to sperate from the leather and the Stealth S1 dotty rubber soles are wearing out fast on the high contact parts of the sole!!

I sized them for long days in the mountains, and they are completely unsuitable. No padding in the forefoot and minimal in the heel means that your feet will take a beating if you plan on doing ridge traverses and long days. oh well, for 15$, they are ok, although they seem to have 5.10's signature delamination happening despite relatively little use due to their lack of padding.

I would rate these at a 5 however these suckers have next to no support/padding. That being said they edge well for an approach shoe and climb pretty damn hard. I've had issues with how thing the rubber is however...jumping off anything higher than about 3 feet does NOT feel good. They will stick to damn near anything however. In a way they are better smearing shoes than anything else due to the fact that you can flex the shoe so it has maximal contact with the rock. If you get onto any kind of sharp stuff however I've always been afraid they are going to shred right through these. I also take issue with how many rocks you pick up inside these things. Low ankles don't make for good scrambling in scree shoes. They do weigh next to nothing however so that is rather nice!

This is the best approach shoe I have ever used. It's comfortable and light weight which is perfect for a long hike and you can climb in them pretty well too. I actually forgot my shoes one time and I was just climbing in these and I was able to climb up to 5.10c in them at Devil's Lake, so they were definitely worth buying.
