A few of them are okay 2 out of 5 stars

Review by: secander, 2011-05-20

I love the 5 cam and I trust it almost as much as the corresponding Camelot. The 3-4 and 5-6 aren't bad, but the bigger sizes have a proclivity to walking. I've had the 9 walk in or out of many cracks. The springs just aren't sufficiently strong.

Sizes 5-7 5 out of 5 stars

I have sizes 5-7 and consider them as worthy as my C4's in those sizes. They match the C4 .75, 1 and 2 almost exactly and their colors are 1 cam off. They are not as smooth as the C4's but you can extend the slings. I did have the 3 and 4 in the splitter cam version and sold them. I never owned a 8 or 9, because they are not as readily available to me as the C4's. Malcolm needs to sell them at REI, I would have a #8 if he did.

QDM, the reviewer below, probably used them to lead a crack in the gym anyway.

Not my top pic 3 out of 5 stars

The one time I used these they walked in and out of the crack... didn't feel safe on them at all.

new trango flex cams 4 out of 5 stars

I just bought my second set of trango flex cams. I have to admit that I bought them on price. I got my first set for 37/cam and my second for 26/cam new. I assumed that because they were bargain priced cams, the weight would be horrible. I was wrong. I don't feel weighted down when I'm up on a crack trying to plug pro. the 8 and 9 have not walked on me like so many people claim. the stems are a little too flexy, but they've been fine. besides, where can you get a 4.3 inch cam for less than $30. the springs are different for each cam. some I like some I hate. the springs are so stiff on the smallest cams that when you pull the trigger, the shaft starts to flex under the weight. this can be annoying if you are trying to plug it into a finger crack as it won't fit sometimes. overall, they've been fine and do exactly what they were made to do.

pros: price, price, price!

cons: too much flex in small and big cams, variance in spring pressure
