I boulder and climb steep stuff frequently, so when I won a free certificate for some locos I thought it was a great score. I currently have the v10s, and climbed on Montrail Methods, so my foot was used to to the aggressive downturned shoe. But geeze the Locos were KILLER on my feet! I have em sized tight just like all my other shoes, and at first I thought wow these fit nice and snug! But once I started climbing it all went downhill. It's a good thing they're velcro and they're easy to get on and off, cause I seriously took them off about every 5 minutes. They hurt like hell on the top of my toes, and take forever to break in. I've been puttin up with the pain hopin it'd go away, but after long sessions in gyms, outdoor boulders and sport routes trying to break em in, they still hurt like hell. I'm really glad I got these for free, cause I'm definitely not going to take care of these things. Get any other down turned shoe than this, nothing should be that uncomfortable. Also I think the toe is too blunt. On pocketed routes you can barely stick your toe in the pockets, whereas with other shoes you could dive right in. I hate to be the negative one in the group, cause I see that most everyone else enjoys em, but man I hate these shoes.

As others have mentioned, this shoe is great for steep/roof problems (I boulder almost exclusively). However, I pretty much only use them when tiny edges are in play, as they are extraordinarily painful (I have them 1/2 size below my street shoe). They are not very sensitive, but they do give you the ability to make big moves off of razor edges....
A great "alternative" shoe to have (for roofs and edges), but I would not make these my only pair of shoes, as their smearing ability is limited at best.
A great shoe for the $63 I paid for them......

I use them mainly for bouldering and they perform like a dream. I am able to stick to the tinyest footholds with ease. GREAT for steeply overhanging routes or boulder problems. theyre hard as hell to walk in though!

WOW!! So far I love these shoes!! My favorite climbing is overhanging dynamic stuff, and these really fit the bill. I got a 10.5, which is about half a size bigger than my street shoe size, and they fit perfectly, keeping my toes secure and ensuring optimum power, without cramping me up too much. Needless to say, I don't stand around chatting it up in these shoes, but on overhanging terrain, I'm amazed at what my feet can stick to!! Not too sure about the durability yet, I'll update once they start to wear out. Overall, a great shoe that fits my needs quite well!!
