A nice solid biner. It would be nice if the open gate strength was higher but it is still one of the stronger biners in the economical oval market.
Buy it in the 6 pack and get 1 free if you can - it saves $$.

Bah, there are so many better alternatives that work smoother, are more versital and don't bind up on the belay biner.
I used that device for a season before I thankfully lost it. It was a complete PITA with jerky rappels and jamming against the biner in weird spots. I personally strongly dislike the device compared to what is available on the market. To add insult to injury it even has the possibility of torquing a biner sideways the same as a figure eight (remember those fatailities that start making folks switch to ATCs) - make sure it never catches against the nose of the biner or someone could be in for a long ride (granted, this can happen with a gri-gri or any solid stem device, but at least my gri-gri seems to behave itself by staying where I want it).
By no means am I implying that the SBGII is a dangerous product, but it definately has some things *I* may not like about it. I don't like it primarily because of feel and personal preference, not because it has a extremely slim chance of having a usability problem faced by any solid stem delay device.

Ok, so they are socks. Big deal. Well, after a cold wet climbing/camping trip I recently learned the value of never using cotton on the trail. My normal cotton socks were soaked from persperation even with dry boots and as the temp dropped it became a miserable trip. On a recommendation from that trip I tried the Dahlgren socks out for my next few hikes. I was very impressed at the versatility. Even with low volume, it has thicker padding on the bottom which is a blister saver and thinner top which breaths very well. Since then I've used them on cold and wet trips as well as very hot trails and they've kept me warm in the cold and cool in the heat. They also dry out very quickly and provide good padding without being bulky and shifting while walking.
Ok, thats my rant - now go buy them. (I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 simply because they are not cheap)

Simply put, it does what you ask it to. It's a solid product that performs well and performs many tasks equally well. No complaints, it's light, affordable and it pretty much sets the standards for all other belay devices.

The cadallaic can be a bit intimidating due to the price. It can run as much as double some of the other decent harness out there. On a solid recommendation from my local climbing gym I bit the bullet on cost and I've never looked back.
I suppose the titan would be even more comfy for long days on the wall, but my cady feels like dropping in a lazy boy when it's adjusted just right. When it's not "just right" it's still fairly cozy, but fine tuning really helps - or at least it made a big difference with my insanely thick thighs. The key: learn to adjust the tilt of the leg loops using the rear straps - it helps a lot.
I love the adjustability range. I had to go with a large just to accomidate my thight, but the waiste is so adjustable it left me in good hands there. My thighs are about as big around as my wasit so harness shoping was difficult.
Compared to the other harnesses I tried, it was a whole new level of comfort and the ample gear loops leave you spoiled.
The harness does fit best if you have the leg loops higher up than on other harnesses, but that doesn't make it any more uncomfortable.
I do wish the leg riser straps were adjustable though otherwise I'd be giving it a 5.
