This is definitely a contender for a do-it-all belay device. Before this came along the reverso was my de-facto choice for bringing up seconds on ice climbing trips It was a real pain to lower them though with all the fiddling around with prussiks. Now, all I need is an extra nut, biner, and sling. Its not perfect... nothing is, but it makes life easier for the impatient leader that I am.
