I can’t say it is the worst knife I have ever used, but can’t say that it’s the best either. Hard to sharpen, open and only fits Petzl carabineers. On the up side the idea was great it lets you have knife on a biner for you harness. With a little string and twenty bucks can get better metal (shaper, will keep edge better, ease in sharpening, and serration for grabbing power) = a better knife.

I have used my international for fifteen years now. It is one of the best pieces of gear I have owned. Very easy to maintain and uses multi fuel, a plus outside the U.S... It has to be primed and take some time to learn how to pressurize for simmer or to get lower heat out put. It is a great stove for boiling water fast, are melting snow. I realize that there have been a lot of upgrades and new tech put out there in this market but this is one that set the standard in backpacking stove.

I have used this product for five years. I have only one complaint it has no rope hole for a tie-in, have to run it down thru the zipper opening. OR recommends you do not zip all the way closed for ventilation. So tie-in point not much of problem. It is light and water proof. Most of my solo stuff it has been my only shelter, if you have to live in it because of bad weather is best to find a little out cove to hide in or a snow cave in winter. The bug netting is in the way most of time, but when you need it’s a life saver, Winds Rivers or in the south. The pole helps in very wet weather and for venting of moister in summer or cold temps. I like the pole for venting since I use down sleeping bags. Is not perfect but what is?
