This shoe's function depends on how you size it. Mine are snug, but not boulder-stud tight. I love them for thin cracks (low toe profile and unique lacing configuration). They are comfy enough for long trad routes, and unlike some pure crack shoes, these can really perform on face (edging and smearing). The rubber is not quite as sticky as C4, but the next resole should remedy that. Some people fit them really tight, and say that they boulder well. If you are looking for a bouldering/face shoe, look for the anasazi or maybe the dragon. If you want a versatile crack shoe that performs in spite of being comfortable, look no further. Oh, and I've even grown to like the purple.
