Being a noob trad-tard I've only started to scratch mine up. so far I love them compared to the old !@#$ my buddies make me climb with. I'm giving a 5 because they're what I'm stuck with like it or not and I want to make myself feel good about all the $$ I spent.

I got the Pro over the standard model for the leveler bubble. I could have gotten the 8040G and been fine but I had to one up my SAR friends. Now I need to REALLY learn how to use the thing.

I bought it because the Summit I've had for 6 years is finally out of date to where I could justify getting a new one. And since I feel Garmin is the easiest to use so I went with another Garmin. I've seen lot's of others used in SAR but I usually kick but when it comes to fast coordinates and navigation.

I buy them because they feel bomber compared to the aluminum rings. I've left a few at the base of trees so if you see one it's mine. I use only one instead of two like everyone else.

This device is very versitle. the 2 different "friciton settings" make it nice for fat or thin ropes. Also the two attachment point for increased/decreased friction in the solid handle are nice. You can even wrap the thing like an 8 if you want if sinlge roped. It's good at everything but for plan old rapelling I'll continue to use an ATC.
