light, yes. packable, extremely. Works great on cutting down weight in the pack. The only drawbacks are the cannisters are somewhat bulky and provide a marginally stable base. the performance is overall great and it is easy to light.

Although I find that I only use two of the 5 possible settings, (high and low) this headlamp is light and reliable and I dont go anywhere backcountry without it. I too have only had one problem and that was with the screw on the hinge. A little tightening up and it was good as new. For canyoneering waterproof is a plus too.

Talk about pocket protectors!! These will fit where cams won't and when they bite, they are awesome. I have the .5 - 2.5, beyond that they dont seem as useful. All hail the Pinky!
