Slipstream
The abandoned Llanberis Slate Quarries, in Northern Wales, UK, provide a novel, challenging and potentially frightening playground for modern day climbers. With his last runner near the bottom of the photo I reckon this climb is verging on the wrong side of sane. Ben Heason is the bold Brit holding it together on this Rainbow Slab test-piece: Slipstream (E6, 6b - approx 5.12b).

wicked...

I think I saw this pic or a very similar one in a climbing magazine. pretty run-out. rock on.

Kudos! He did eventually make the next clip I hope! =)

it looks like there's a bolt roughly two body-lengths to the right of his right knee. are you sure that guy is on-route?

"that guy.." ?
"potentially frightening"
70' is one epic whipper. what a cool location; the more I see of Wales, the more attractive of a destination it is, though Simon Carter could make even Gary, Indiana look appealing. keep the photos coming!

Potentially? I just about wet myself looking at the photo! looks like brilliant rock, I feel a trip to Wales coming on. Top stuff, keep em coming Simon, Major Kudos Ben.
Always a pleasure to see this pic! I have had the book for a couple of years now and enjoy flipping through it every so often. B.t.w. if you look at the version in the book you can see the bolt is about a foot above his right hand.
I bet hes stoked for the next bolt.

ok, really onsight cannot post any more pics ... he's making us all look bad ... :) nice job, great pic, love how the rope 'sticks out' from the rock, nice touch!

So nice !
Runouts are fun...until you fall. That guy is sick!
