Moonset over the Buttermilks
Woke up early one morning in July while vacationing in the Buttermilks to work on the Iron Man Traverse. I caught a glimpse of the moon setting over the mountain range and grabbed my camera. Just as I hit the shutter, one of the few climbers brave enough to boulder in the dry 97F heat of Bishop wandered into frame. At the time I thought he'd ruined the shot but it turned out pretty well. I later learned his name was Theo. His family came up to Iron Man for a few burns before we retreated to the waterfall oasis. Photograph taken with a Nikon FM2, f/5.6 @ 1/1000s.
