The leader never falls
About a year and a half ago, I was a young punk who thought he was ballzout when it came to climbing. Rained yesterday? No problem. Nothing easier than 5.10c? No problem. Warm-up? No thanks. Got on Workman's Comp, pumped out through the bouldery crux, rushed the clip, and decked from about 20 feet. I ended up in a wheelchair for a week with this nasty-looking knee and two f**ked ankles, and I was lucky.
I learned a lot from the experience and became a better, smarter, safer climber. Took about 6 months to get back on the sharp end, but pulling harder than ever now.
