El Cap in the full moonlight
This is one of my favorite shots ever, because I captured something I had NEVER seen before. Not in person... not in magazines... never. In September just past midnight, the full moon is above Middle Cathedral Rock and the moonlight is blasting the face of El Capitan. I set up a tripod in El Cap Meadow way back away from the road and opened the shutter for 8 seconds. It's an amazing shot. El Cap basking in the moonlight, stars overhead, and if you look closely, headlamps on the wall. I still can't believe I've never seen a shot similar to this before. It should be a poster.
