The impressive first crack pitch (view)

This is a photograph of the first proper pitch on the route. This pitch is of the highest quality, fantastic free crack climbing up solid well protected granite for about 30-40 metres. The crag is set above the Mer de Glace with easy access from the Montenvers railway. The situation is quite simpley breath taking, you are surrounded by some of the most impressive mountains and walls in the region - Ranging from the Drus all the way around to the Dent du Crocodile. Fantastic
