Enjoying brief moments on the top of Island Peak, aka Imja Tse - Khumbu Himal. Altitude 20,283 feet / 6,183 meters

Here I am climbing Mt Everest. Dont know what the big deal is, I thought it was a pretty easy climb.

This is a shot of Everest as we flew by it in an airplane. It was in August, the middle of the monsoon season, so just the top is sticking above the clouds.

I snapped this picture of the West Ridge from about 5100m during an ascent of Chugima Ri in Nov-'02. The weather had been really calm for a couple of weeks, and all of a sudden, that trademark wind picked up the spindrift...and well...it was a beautiful site!

If I lived here...what am I saying, I wouldn't be spending any time in my house with mountains around like these. Climbing and hiking Spring 2002 in the Khumbu region.

This is a picture taken from the top of Gokyo Ri (5483m) in December 2000. We got lucky with the timing, catching the nearly full moon rising next to Everest, just as the sun was setting. This was one of the highlights in a two-week trek up the Gokyo valley.
