This photo was taken in 1986 when my father when to the Aconcagua, just one year before i was born.

This photo was taken by my father just after finishing his ascent to La Aconcagua, there you can see his fellows climbers.

Just got back from Argentina and decided to throw up some pics on the site...What gorgeous mountains the Andes are! Lifetime of climbing for sure...

we actually hiked further up than this, but to go on any further than the bridge means you have to pay the park permit--plus we had to go get drunk at puente...

this was shot from the bridge across the glacier-fed river...we couldnt go across the bridge because we woul be in the national park and have to pay for the entrance... of course there were no rangers or anything, but why worry...

This is La Lena on the Vacas Valley approach to Aconcagua. Mules milling around are a fixture of all the approach camps - be careful where you pitch your tent!

This is the first view of Aconcagua you get when approaching from the Vacas Valley. The large glacier on the left side is the Polish Glacier, and the smaller one in the center is the difficult and seldom climbed East Glacier Route.

This was taken during the carry up to camp 1 on the Polish Glacier Route. The East Glacier is stunning from here, though we went right through the penitente field for the Polish Glacier since we aren't burly.
