The RailThis is Nate Moody using only the rail sans the first undercling that is usually used. Excellent problem.

What's the grade?Ooh my I love this problem at Dierkes Lake. it is one of the best on my idaho trip too. It's a steep featureless slab just right of the metal stairs and goes up to a perfect necessary jug and still and less than easy topout onto flats, sorry I left lots of chalk on this thing.

The afternoon overviewStandard overview of the area. Shot at sundown, I sat in the motel room super pumped for the morning to come back here-this is a great venue to visit.

Saw it on the netsaw this boulder somewhere on the internet and it was surreal to actually get on it for real. this is the left arete route?, but the middle line looks even better. The lake behind is where kids can fish, swim, and jump from a diving board-the perfect place for families!

A quick overviewThis is a simple shot looking at the main roped wall(Alcove?). A nice path goes from the parking lot($3 entrance fee well worth it)past the swimming lake/kiddie park over a footbridge to this area in five minutes. The cliffs on the right are the bouldering walls. A stairwell in the middle goes up a level and a trail goes to a overlook of another lake in the photo center.
Oh yeah, the roped wall looks super crazy jug fun, and tall.

Warm-up facesSome nice unknown(to me, never had a topo)starter problems. From the parking lot, cross the bridge and head left towards some white target practice structures? left of the main area about 5 minutes walk.

Another goodieYet another fun problem at Dierkes Lake. After a 12 day bouldering tour of Idaho, this place is one of the best. Surprised there was only one photo submitted thus far?
You can boulder while others fish, swim, play on swings, hike, reptile watch, suntan, picinic and the best listen to automatic gunfire in the distant goes off.

Short but ooh so sweetClimbing at Dierkes is like climbing up rusted steel doors in scorching temps. This problem starts low down and comes out on holds on a overhung wall to a great topout.
Make a trip to Dierkes Lake!!

yet another trailside attractionAnother short fun ride along the trail, with the main boulder wall behind. Either locals scrub the chalk here very well, or it naturally cleans off as it the bouldering was very chalk-less in places.
