This was one of the last routes I climbed before getting married. The wall is actually next to the E. Carson river on Hwy 4. I was fly fishing one evening and saw some bolts up on the wall. No one I talked to knew anything about it so I went out there with some friends the next day and found out why it was unknown.

During my latest trip to S. Utah, I finally got to spend some time on some towers. The exposure on Ancient Art is awesome. So is the view.

After climbing Ancient Art (5.8), we started hiking out and couldn't pass on The Cobra (5.11-). A short climb with the only pro being a drilled angle made the 5.10 moves feel 5.11- with the fear of death. Short but worth while.

I took this pic one evening of the ridge between 16,200' and 17,200'. Washburn's Thumb is the largest rock on the ridge and the glare in the distance is a lake over 12,000' below me.

While crossing the football field back to 17,200' camp, I was amazed how set apart the wanded route was from the rest of the wind scoured landscape. Even before I took the shot, I felt like the path would lead into the clouds.

This picture was taken by some brits who summited shortly after we did. Nearly three weeks on a mountain for Jesse (my climbing partner) and I (Alpinist) to have this picture for years to come.

My climbing partner Jesse took this picture of me in our tent at 17,200' camp waiting to get a game started. This was day 4 of waiting out a 6 day storm.

There is no such thing as privicy on the W. Buttress route and nobody seems to mind. This is one of two toilets at 14,200' camp. Everyone approaching camp from lower elevations walks right past (distant left). On clear days, I did have quite a view from the throne.

After 19 days on the mountain (including 6 days at 17,200' in a storm), my climbing partner and I were rewarded with a beautiful summit day. I took this shot of the summit ridge on our way down, having spent about 30 min. on top. Mt. Foraker (17,000'+?) is in the distance.

This last spring I made a solo trip into the Winds to check conditions and this is what I found. Not the best conditions for climbing but great for the views.

After my early spring trip into the Cirque I had to go back later to really enjoy the area. This was my camp in the Cirque which lead to climbs of Pingora and Wolf's Head.

This was a typical climbing day for me in the Tetons this summer. Blacktail Butte was close to where I lived and the views while climbing are hard to beat.

When I couldn't find a partner to rope up with I often went to Blacktail to work on this boulder traverse. I think it goes V5 if you can link all 23+ moves. Two summers and I came within 4 moves of finishing this endurance fest.

If I lived here...what am I saying, I wouldn't be spending any time in my house with mountains around like these. Climbing and hiking Spring 2002 in the Khumbu region.

Over every bridge I crossed and ridge I climbed, prayer flags like these lined my path.

This picture was taken looking south while below Three Finger Jack. I crawled out of my snowcave, saw this, got my camera and ended up with this early morning sunrise.

This is me on top of Baxter's Pinacle in Grand Teton NP. It was the last time I went up Baxter's that summer and I couldn't have asked for a better day. Good rock, good air and good company.

I took this picture in the spring of 2002 while treking and climbing in Nepal. I was walking between Khumjung and Khunde when I turned around and saw this view.

This was taken during a road trip through Utah and Nevada one spring break. This was my first experience climbing on sandstone and by the end of the trip, there was not much left of my hands.
