J.O. (antigrav) gets a new personal best, fighting the pump after the crux one third up the route! From there on it is vertical and crimping on decent lists, but not very easy to get a proper rest. Considered a classic.

J.O. clipping from a good, albeit a little high stance. Sent the route in spite of a serious case of Elvis legs toward the top. Picture taken by Tone.

The route is an oddity, because you climb into a vertical tunnel, exiting after a few metres. This is about the only interesting feature of this route.

What else can one ask for when sitting inside in rainy weather and hard hit by the flu? Ok, ok, I know... A lot more... But at least I get to familiarize myself with the new camera before the next climbing trip.

I have just passed a slightly delicate traverse somewhere on the via ferrata Piz da Lech in the Dolomites, and have paused to take a snapshot of my friend Inge as he is about to start on the same traverse. As always, the exposedness one experiences in real life doesn't properly carry over to the photograph... To get here, take the Boe gondola and then the Vallon chairlift, from Corvara, northern Italy.

Taken by one of my "human tripod" friends Nicolas or Martin, I don't remember which one, this picture of yours truly marks the start of our trip in Rondane in September 2003. This route is probably 5.2 or 5.3. Maybe a hard 5.2, hehe.
