Dave and I finished our last climb of the day and headed down because these clouds were getting much too close. Just another typical weather pattern for Lumpy Ridge. Made the climbing a bit sketchy.

When Cracklover came to town, of course we had to climb one of the all time greatest classics in Eldo. The Bastille Crack. Here's the obligatory shot of me at the crux.

Gawd, what a horrid approach this was. Whacking and schlepping for hours. The climb was ok. The scenery and my partners were the best part of the day.

Definitely the Bastille Crack. Couldn't wipe the smile from my face for a long time after reaching the top.

I placed this memorial one year after Angus' death at the top of Redgarden Wall after climbing Anthill in October, 2005. The desire to complete this simple act is why I started climbing. The cannister contains some info about him and his accident as well as some paper and pencils. If you feel like it, leave a note or just give your name and the date of your visit. For the location, pm me.

The Bastille Crack is an amazing climb. Climbing this with Kevin was superb. I had been looking forward to this climb all year long. We did the route in 3 pitches. Pitch 1, pitch 2 & 3 and pitch 4 & 5. Photo taken on 8-3-2005

Title says it all. IMO, the crux is close to the top of the 3rd pitch. Lots of gear donated in that spot.

The three of us are smiling because our brains are fried. It was at least 210 degrees that day and of course we ran out of water. But, climbing with Dave and Chris was still a blast. Photo taken 6-19-05 in Red Rocks Canyon

Just kidding, Tracy really isn't looking for a spot to place a cam. Butt, a good crack is always useful for gear placement!

My first climb was in Eldo on The Bomb with bustinmins. I couldn't help goofing around when we got to the top because I was ready to sh*t my pants on the way up.

Getting ready to rap down to begin climbing Twofers Gully. Climbed with Nextascent that day. She was wearing an o-so-fashionable cast on her hand. Residue from a skiing accident and was still able to climb incredibly well.
