at 18,500 ft, El Pico de Orizaba is the third highest peak in North America, behind Denali and Mt. Logan in Canada. this is the tantalizing view of Orizaba (Citlaltépetl) from the 4X4 road leading up the mountain to Piedra Grande. the haziness is caused by pollution and the burning of surrounding corn fields. photo by jackscoldsweat.

Me about halfway down from Pike's. Next time...snowshoes. Coldest night I ever spent in the Rockies...about 8 degrees.
