"What I did on my summer vacation". That's a BD X-15 tool there , with the ergo handle. Apologies to Charlet Moser... These were designed to be a dedicated drytooling weapon, and I'm still getting used to them. See the Alpine & Ice forum for construction details.

Ian stretches over to the corner. We opted not to climb directly up to that point because the lower corner was wet and extremely slick - notice the green lichen. Location = Cedar River slab.

This 20 ft, freestanding structure is a very good replica of a sea stack. What an amazing backyard boulder it would be to play on. The reality is, however, that it is a sculpture in a local art exhibit, and no, you can't get on it. The cool thing? It's made entirely out of stacked 4x4's, all chiseled up and then darkened with graphite. Amazingly cool to look at though. And being artwork, that's the point.
